Peer Review Process in Journal of Multidisciplinary Novel Journeys & Explorations

Journal of Multidisciplinary Novel Journeys & Explorations, published by Sapiens Ediciones, is a multidisciplinary open-access journal that follows a stringent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and impact of its articles. Its double-blind review process guarantees an impartial and objective evaluation, with the aim of maintaining high scientific standards in every publication.

Phase 1: Initial Review

The review process begins with a preliminary assessment carried out by the editorial team of Journal of Multidisciplinary Novel Journeys & Explorations. Within a maximum of 72 hours, authors will receive an email notification, along with a unique reference number. During this phase, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned editor evaluates the alignment of the manuscript with the journal’s objectives and standards, its originality, academic relevance, and potential contribution to scientific knowledge.

At this stage, articles may be rejected if they do not meet the journal’s criteria, if their structure is flawed, if the findings are unclear, or if plagiarism is detected. In the case of rejection, authors will be informed promptly. If the manuscript raises concerns, the Editorial Board will be consulted for further review.

Manuscripts that pass this phase are sent to the next stage for peer review.

Phase 2: Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial review are subjected to a more detailed evaluation by subject-matter experts under the double-blind review process. In this process, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, ensuring impartial evaluation. Each reviewer uses a detailed form that considers the following aspects:

  • Relevance of the work to the academic field and its impact on scientific knowledge.

  • Clarity and coherence in writing.

  • Theoretical rigor and logical structure of the content.

  • Appropriate and up-to-date use of bibliographic sources.

  • Methodological strength and validity of the research design.

  • Depth and coherence of the analysis.

  • Originality and contribution of the conclusions.

Reviewers have up to 30 days to complete their evaluations. Upon completion, authors receive the editorial decision. If reviewers request adjustments, authors will have between 8 and 15 days to make the necessary revisions, depending on the nature of the required changes.

Phase 3: Editorial Quality Control

Once the peer review is completed, the manuscripts undergo editorial quality control. This process includes grammatical and spelling checks, as well as ensuring that the manuscript adheres to the journal’s presentation standards. At this stage, the appropriateness of the content to the journal’s objectives and editorial policy is also assessed.

It is important to note that successful completion of this process does not guarantee immediate publication, as the final decision depends on the editors, who will consider factors such as editorial priorities, the publication schedule, and the global impact of the journal.
